Another view of the Milky Way from Lastovo island, Croatia, over the open sea towards Italy, 120-150 km away. The atmosphere was very transparent after the morning rain, so light pollution from Italy can be seen clearly. If you zoom in, you can even see the italian coast (Monte Gargano) on the right.

Amazing view of the Milky Way over Skrivena (meaning “hidden”) bay on Lastovo island, Croatia. You can see it all the way to hotizon, thanks to exceptionally clear and dark skies. Far away on the left there’s light pollution from Dubrovnik and Montenegro, lights on the right are from Bari on Italy, some 150 km away.

Compare it with one of my previous photos! Morning light on Upper Town Zagreb, this one taken on black & white negative, medium format Pentax 645 NII with 150 mm lens, which is equivalent to about 90 mm on full frame. The previous photo is in colour and was taken with my iPhone.

I really love classic film, especially b&w, but in this case I think I actually prefer the iPhone version! 😬
