Saturn’s rings are edge on! Although Saturn is most beautiful when it’s ring are tilted and can be seen in all their splendor, this rare perspective happens only once every 13-15 years. Try to take a look through a telescope if you can!

This is not a high quality image - conditions were awful, image was unstable due to bad atmospheric turbulence. My Celestron 9.25” (235 mm diameter) Edge HD telescope can certainly deliver much better results. But this rare sight is worth sharing anyway! Taken with #playeroneastronomy Uranus-C camera, 2x barlow lens and ADC, this is a stack of 1500 individual frames.

Not just another North America Nebula - this was made on negative film (yes, ANALOG!) and is a stack of three separate 90 min exposures for a total of 4.5 hours exposure time! Stacking improves signal and reduces film grain - and yes, it is effective on analog astrophotography, too. Taken with my Pentax 105 SDP (670 mm FL) telescope, iOptron HAE 29 mount. Nikon F80. Three different locations, even three different negatives…next time I’ll do it for real 😉🌌✌🏻
