Taken with my Pentax 105 SDP apo refractor (670 mm focal length) on iOptron HAE29 mount with Nikon F80 camera. Scanned with Nikon Coolscan 4000 ED. Wow what a lucky night! Went out on friday to catch some early geminids above the fog and accidentally managed to capture the aurora (totally unexpected from Zagreb, a solar storm was active the previous night)! There was also a huge fire in a warehouse 13 km away, you can see the plume! And yes, a bright geminid meteor, too 😆

Saturn’s rings are edge on! Although Saturn is most beautiful when it’s ring are tilted and can be seen in all their splendor, this rare perspective happens only once every 13-15 years. Try to take a look through a telescope if you can!

This is not a high quality image - conditions were awful, image was unstable due to bad atmospheric turbulence. My Celestron 9.25” (235 mm diameter) Edge HD telescope can certainly deliver much better results. But this rare sight is worth sharing anyway! Taken with #playeroneastronomy Uranus-C camera, 2x barlow lens and ADC, this is a stack of 1500 individual frames.
